Water and wastewater contractor Coffey Water, part of the Coffey Group, has selected filter underdrain technology from Italian water technology company De Nora, according to WaterWorld.
The selected technology will be used at two drinking water plants, one under construction at Owenteskna and the other an existing facility at Kilkit, which is undergoing a €4.5 million-worth upgrade.
De Nora’s LP Blocks will be used for the Coffey Water work, which the company said are not only highly-effective as a filter underdrain but they also offer superior distribution of both backwash air and water, either sequentially or concurrently.
This international expansion follows the acquisition of Severn Trent Services in 2015, and the recent investment in the Italian company by the Blackstone Group.
