South Africa’s Gunric Valves acquired by AVK

AVK_news_960x257AVK Holding Southern Africa confirmed that on the 27th December 2016, it acquired the assets, IP and brand name of Gunric Valves. AVK Holding South Africa will continue to operate at the existing facility at Robertville, Florida, Johannesburg. “This acquisition represents a substantial, confidence-boosting, inward investment by one of the world’s leading valve manufacturers. This attests to the efficacy of the DTI policy aimed at re-industrialising South Africa to meet the requirements of its state owned enterprises and infrastructure spend by providing large volumes of world-class, competitively priced valves locally, defraying concerns over quality, capacity and delivery time.
AVK Holding South Africa Chairman, Paul Hubbard commented: “The addition of product programme including Triple Offset Metal Seated Butterfly and tilting disc check valves are not only strengthening our offer to our core water business but also provides an extension to our Industrial valve offer”.

Gunric products are supplied to many of South Africa’s major power stations, petrochemical and water infrastructure projects.
AVK is now in the process of expanding its productive capacity in support of the DTI’s policies to meet the needs of South Africa’s state owned enterprises for local content procurement.
The AVK investment will also introduce the AVK best practice quality, production technology and green processes to the South African industry standards.
