As a part of its engagement to support the local community in which operate, Italian valve manufacturer ATV – Advanced Technology Valve informed that has recently donated three life-saving automated external defibrillator (AED) units to the local High School “I.S.S. Marco Polo” based in Colico, Italy.
The AED is an extremely sophisticated, but easy-to-use, medical device, used in the event of a cardiac arrest where the speed of reaction and intervention is crucial. Nowadays AEDs are widely spread in public and private spaces but we need to make them more and more diffused and people trained.
Since 2016, ATV is strongly committed to promoting the AEDs practice: they operate four AEDs into their headquarters in Colico, with more than 50 employees regularly trained to intervene in case of emergency. The presence of AEDs is reported through signals outside their facilities and on the public maps, so everyone is in the closest proximity of facilities could use them in case of need.
