Danfoss Power Solutions has launched its next-generation Level 1 AxisPro valve, rounding out the line of Vickers by Danfoss servo performance software-configurable proportional valves. Featuring a new digital amplifier and support for industry-leading network protocols, the valve provides enhanced performance, control and connectivity
Complementing the valve’s release is Pro-FX Configure v2, the redesigned software configuration platform which includes an intuitive interface, simplified setup, and real-time tuning for easier installation. AxisPro valves are suitable for challenging industrial hydraulic applications such as presses, machine tools, and factory automation.
The next-generation AxisPro valves can provide an upgrade to the Vickers by Danfoss KBSDG proportional valve lineup, supplying customers with more intelligent, fully connected motion control solution. Designed to be integrated seamlessly into a range of applications, the new valves have a digital amplifier and support for network protocols including Profinet, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, and CANopen.
The digital amplifier enhances accuracy and tuning to enable easier system optimisation and improved performance. The valve can deliver consistent, stable flow across all operating conditions through flow linearisation and smooth and precise motion is achieved due to dither and deadband adjustments which prevent stick-slip and dead zones.
AxisPro valves provide improved power capacity and speed plus pressure gain of 2.05%. Ingress protection rating of IP65 and IP67 plus ambient temperature ratings of 70°C for added reliability. To further enhance the valves durability for demanding applications, corrosion resistance and extreme vibration resistance are optional.
AxisPro valves are software configural, helping to simplify setup, tuning, and commissioning, the valves are also programmed using Danfoss’ redesigned Pro-FX Configure v2 software, providing a streamlined workflow for setup across control modes such as spool position, cylinder position, pressure, speed, and force.
Users can optimise control loops with real-time parameter adjustment thanks to advanced tuning capabilities, helping to improve performance for specific loads, speeds, and conditions. AxisPro valves support configuration via USB, Ethernet, and CAN bus. Additionally, the valve’s integral diagnostics facilitate accelerated troubleshooting to decrease system downtime.
Gary Wei, global product management director, Motion Controls, Industrial division, Danfoss Power Solutions, said, “This isn’t a product refresh; it’s a complete transformation. With a digital amplifier and support for the same communication protocols as our Level 2 and Level 3 valves, our next-generation Level 1 AxisPro valves are smarter, faster, and fully connected. We’ve improved the valve’s performance and optimized its design, allowing us to offer AxisPro at a more competitive price point. This makes advanced technology accessible to a broader spectrum of applications.”
