Worley Secures Major Construction Contract for Large-Scale Facility Reconfiguration Project

Worley Limited has been awarded a major construction contractby ExxonMobil Corporation for the reconfiguration of its integrated manufacturing complex in Baytown, Texas.

The project represents a significant step in ExxonMobil’s strategy to modernize existing infrastructure and incorporate next-generation processing technologies aimed at enhancing operational performance and sustainability across its refining and chemical operations.

According to Worley, the scope of work includes upgrades to existing facilities and utility systems, the installation of new process equipment, and the integration of advanced technologies designed to enable the production of higher-value products, including next-generation base stocks and advanced distillates.

The reconfiguration will position the Baytown complex as a more efficient, flexible, and competitive facility, while reducing overall energy consumption and emissions. Major construction activities are expected to commence in the coming months, with full operations scheduled for 2028.

The project will be executed primarily through Worley’s U.S. operations, utilizing its extensive local resources and expertise in large-scale industrial construction and technology integration. Worley emphasized that the work will follow its proven approach to safe and efficient project delivery, from engineering and procurement through to commissioning.

Chris Ashton, Worley’s Chief Executive Officer, said that securing this contract marks “an important milestone” for the company, strengthening its position across both traditional energy and transitional energy markets. He highlighted that the project aligns with Worley’s commitment to supporting global customers in adopting cleaner, more efficient technologies that advance their sustainability goals.

This award further deepens the long-standing partnership between Worley and ExxonMobil, reaffirming Worley’s role as one of the leading service providers for complex industrial projects within the global energy sector.
