EGESUR will add up 42MW hydropower to its portfolio in a $100mln investment

Tacna, a Peru-based Company of EGESUR, announced it is in the process of completing site studies in preparation to begin 2017 construction of three new hydropower plants that will cost an estimated US$100 million, according to HydroWorld, whose total installed capacity will reach 42MW.
Planned for construction are 32.8-MW Moquegua 1 and 3 at a cost of $90 million, located in the district of Torata, Mariscal Nieto Province, and a smaller 9.6-MW Aricota 3 at a cost of $26 million, located in the district of Ilabaya, province of Jorge Basadre Grohmann, department of Tacna.
According to EGESUR, Aricota 3 is expected to be complete in 2019, while environmental permitting continues for Moquegua.
