Bechtel has been selected by Cricket Valley Energy LLC, an affiliate of Advanced Power, to design and build a new 1000MW combined-cycle, electric generating facility in Dover, NY.
The new plant is designed to be among the cleanest energy producers in New York, and will supply electricity for nearly one million homes. Construction is planned in mid-2016. Bechtel will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, and construction of the generating facility, which will use three General Electric natural gas turbines, each with a heat recovery steam generator and steam turbine generator. Bechtel partnered with Cricket Valley Energy LLC to complete the development of the project.
Bechtel is also currently working at another gas-fired, combined-cycle power plant in Texas, which is being made by another Advanced Power affiliate, Country Energy LLC.
These two complexes are not the first ones made by Bechtel, three similar plants have been already completed in Texas.
