Sitindustrie Valvometal gets new leadership

Sitindustrie Valvometal, the Italian firm specialising in the manufacture of tailor-made valves for power plants, has announced that Parvin Afsar has been appointed General Manager and majority shareholder.
Parvin, after finishing her studies at LIUC in Castellanza in 2010, went straight to work at Ital Parts Group, founded by her father Mahmoud Reza Afsar. As a commercial project manager she earned a reputation as a pragmatic, determined woman which took her to the top of a company in the metalwork sector, a notoriously masculine environment. Parvin is now the General Manager and majority shareholder of a company which operates out of Valduggia, a delightful medieval hamlet in the Valsesia valley, while the offices are in a modern complex in Castano Primo, on the outskirts of Milan.
210 major clients around the world across 59 Countries: these are the figures for Sitindustrie Valvometal, a group specialised in the manufacture of custom made valves, the perfect combination of foundry processes and forged raw materials. The company’s success is down to a blend of integrated management between supply chain and project management, the care taken over its ‘made in Italy’ products, prompt delivery, and the championing of craftsmanship in a managerial context.
“I am now aiming at a relaunch, at physiologically rejuvenating the company starting from its great tradition of Italian excellence and focussing more and more on the organisational model of project management. Our clients are predominantly foreign, we work very well with Europe, the Middle East and the Far East, who have extremely specific demands. What we produce for their plants are true mechanical pieces of art”, says Parvin Afsar. Indeed, one of the company’s plans is to increase collaboration with external suppliers and workshops to generate wealth on a general level, and not just for the company itself.
Parvin was born in Italy and acquired her love of mechanics, engines and business from her father straight away. From him she inherited her family values, attention to the product, and respect for the workforce, the strengths that make Sitindustrie Valvometal stand out from larger firms. This is what motivated her to graduate in Engineering and, during her degree, to attend a Summer School in the USA focussing on the supply chain, and another in China on Chinese business. Masters in Project Management and SME management followed.
A new General Manager, decisive and determined both in life and at work. It is no coincidence that her great love of motors, in particular for motorcycles, reflects her courage, her leadership, and her drive. A continual drive to improve and to take the wheel by herself. “I ride three Ducatis: an 848, a Scrambler Icon Special – with which she won First Prize in the Scrambler category in the first Ducati-based Special contest, competing against other women and also many men – and a Streetfighter 1098 S. I love motorbikes, and I consider myself 100% a supporter of Italian mechanics”, confirms Parvin. Alongside motorbikes, art and photography also have a place in Pavin Afsar’s life, and it was her idea to celebrate 60 years of Sitindustrie Valvometal with a superb photographic Monograph showing details of the products, as well as a concept of the production process seen through fresh eyes, those of a General Manager who has set her sights on moving the company forward, her wide-ranging expertise taking her all the way to the top.
