Specialist firm Surface Corrosion Consultants is leading the way in web-based technology for the management of corrosion.
The company, which has an office in Westhill, near Aberdeen, specialises in comprehensive paint inspection, NDT Inspection and corrosion prevention.
It has unveiled its innovative new app – Surface Asset Management (SAM), which is set to transform how coating condition surveys and painting campaigns are recorded and managed.
With the new app is simple to manage NDT, coating or paint inspection campaigns from the ease of an android tablet (EX rated Zone 1 if required).  Survey data is captured live within the app and uploaded to our server when connectivity is available.  The initial survey is carried out by our NACE or ICorr level three qualified inspection team.
‘Sam’ removes duplication of work.  As the survey data is captured, it is available for review and action immediately, providing significant cost savings on older methods.
From this information comprehensive work-scopes can be generated, up to 3 years in advance.  Once agreed, the Client can include the scope into tender documents for pricing. Following Contractor selection the survey data is used to raise fully detailed inspection reports; again all from the simplicity of our tablet based app.  Paint and NDT Inspection reporting is immediate and what’s more, totally dynamic.
As the information is entered anyone with a logon can access the reports and view progress.  Daily, weekly and monthly reports track HSEQ data and performance; a must for any maintenance campaign.
Summary reports are available for issue to, Government Regulators as an example of continued improvement or to provide a planned maintenance programme 3, 5 or even 10 years hence.
Sam can  be used for one-off inspection reporting, no job is too big or too small; need a weld testing or a coating repair to a small tank?  The reporting is exactly the same and what’s more fully traceable to individual inspector qualification and calibrated equipment.
