GF finalizes acquisition of VAG Group expanding global flow solutions portfolio

GF has completed its acquisition of Mannheim-based VAG Group, a global manufacturer of metal valves used in water and infrastructure applications. The company says the move will strengthen its ability to offer integrated Flow Solutions to both existing and new customers across industry and infrastructure sectors.

According to GF, adding VAG’s valve technologies expands its offerings for infrastructure, water utilities, industrial operations and building technology. The company positions the acquisition as a step toward becoming a single-source provider backed by engineering, manufacturing and service capabilities.

GF highlighted several expected benefits of the combined portfolio. The company stated it can now provide “end-to-end Flow Solutions from one partner,” including pipes, fittings, valves, connection systems, stormwater management and repair technologies. It says this consolidation will simplify logistics and improve system compatibility for customers.

The company also pointed to increased technical depth and innovation capacity. VAG contributes decades of experience in metal valves, including gate, butterfly, control, check and air valves used in water networks, dams, hydrants, desalination facilities and power plants. GF said customers will gain access to “advanced valve solutions and deeper engineering support than ever before.”

GF noted that metal valves play a key role in ensuring durability and resilience in utility networks. By integrating VAG’s valve manufacturing expertise, the company said it can offer “more robust systems with reduced downtime, maintenance costs and leakage risk.”

VAG’s global footprint — spanning Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia — is also expected to accelerate project timelines and enhance service support. Additionally, both companies emphasize sustainability as part of their innovation strategies, forecasting new valve and flow management solutions focused on water loss mitigation, smart control and lower energy use.

GF completed the transaction and integrated VAG into its Industry & Infrastructure Flow Solutions division as of 1 October 2025.
