IMI’s manufacturing site in Korea celebrated its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of expertise in conventional control valves

Over three decades, the Korean site, now based in Paju, has transformed into a strategic engineering and manufacturing hub for critical application flow control, contributing to IMI’s success across APAC and the world.
Since its founding in 1996, the manufacturing facility has established itself as a centre of excellence for advanced fluid control technology, with a strong emphasis on adopting technologies such as additive manufacturing to achieve higher precision and faster iteration. Following the successful deployment of its first 3D printer in collaboration with IMI engineers globally, the site has recently invested in an additional unit to scale capability and accelerate development cycles.
The site, which employs over 200 people, continues to play a significant role within IMI’s wider projects. It has received multiple internal IMI awards, and the site is widely considered a role-model facility for operational discipline and performance. This foundation has enabled the site to consistently deliver on safety, quality and cost, while maintaining a strong customer focus. IMI’s long standing relationships with leading customers in Korea and worldwide reflect this shared commitment to performance and reliability.
JeongSik Yun, Managing Director, Korea at IMI, said: “As we commemorate our 30th anniversary, we want to thank our employees, customers and the local community for their trust and support. Our team will continue to innovate, grow and contribute to delivering Breakthrough Engineering for a Better World.”
Alongside engineering excellence, the site has also made significant commitments to sustainability. More than 40% of the site’s electricity is generated by rooftop photovoltaic panels, and it operates electric vehicles and forklifts, supported by on-site charging infrastructure. Additionally, the site has achieved a Grade 2 ESG rating and has seen a 70% reduction in carbon emissions since 2019.
Looking ahead, the site is planning to invest further in carbon reduction via expanded renewables and energy efficiency. There will also be significant investment into creating safe and inclusive workplaces, with an added focus on wellbeing and skills development for employees.
