Odebrecht Infrastructure set a new step in Laúca under-construction hydroelectric plant, building new energy transmission lines.
The new transmission infrastructure will allow the outflow of 100% of the energy produced by the Laúca hydroelectric complex to consumer centers and the capital, Luanda, in particular.
The contract of $797 million envisages 754 km of extra-high voltage transmission lines (400 and 220 kV), four new large sub-stations and the expansion of a further six sub-stations. This is the largest transmission line contract ever won by Odebrecht.
On accomplishing this project, the Laúca Hydroelectric Plant will be interconnected to the Capanda and Cambambe Hydroelectric Plants and the Soyo thermoelectric plant, substantially increasing Angola’s energy security.
