Oliver Twinsafe has completed the manufacture of eight high-specification trunnion-mounted ball valves for Shell Trinidad and Tobago, forming part of the infrastructure for the upcoming Manatee gas field development.
Engineered and assembled at our UK manufacturing facility, the valves are 8” 900# RF reduced bore (6”) in duplex stainless steel, supplied complete with single-isolated flange-to-flange 10 metre vent valves. Designed for long-term reliability in demanding offshore conditions, each valve is DVT qualified and built to meet the rigorous Shell MESC specifications, a global benchmark for safety, quality and performance.
The Manatee gas field is located approximately 60 miles off the east coast of Trinidad and Tobago and is 100% operated by Shell Trinidad and Tobago, a subsidiary of Shell. The resource is owned by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and represents a key part of the country’s future energy mix. Production is scheduled to begin in 2027, with the development expected to bring significant economic and strategic benefits to the region.
The valves produced by Oliver Twinsafe will serve as a critical part of the platform’s operational safety and pressure control systems. The choice of duplex stainless steel ensures exceptional resistance to corrosion in harsh marine environments, while the trunnion-mounted FOSL design provides dependable shut-off performance under high pressure.
This delivery continues Oliver Twinsafe’s strong relationship with Shell and underlines our commitment to supplying high-integrity valves for major international projects. It also reinforces the group’s legacy of British engineering excellence, combining in-house machining, assembly and testing with the flexibility to meet complex customer requirements.
As global energy projects move towards greater operational resilience and environmental responsibility, Oliver Valves remains a trusted partner in delivering advanced, technically proven valve solutions.
