Orion Valves sets world record for largest valve ever

Orion Valves, marking its 75th anniversary, has entered the Guinness World Records for the largest wedge gate valve ever built.
During the presentation event held on December 11th 2025, the judge of the world’s most renowned record-breaking award certified the achievement of the Trieste-based company, which successfully completed the production of a valve with a 114-inch (2.89 m) rating.
The event, held at the Innoway facilities in Trieste, was attended by over 600 guests, including Massimiliano Fedriga, President of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, Trieste Mayor Roberto Dipiazza, representatives of the clients Saudi Aramco and Hyundai, and all Orion Valves employees.
The ceremony, with the valve displayed at center stage as a tangible symbol of the region’s technical ingenuity and manufacturing capacity, represented a moment of international recognition not only for Orion Valves, but also for the production chain, which involved several major regional industrial companies: from Saiph (an Orion subsidiary, which served as the logistics and component coordination center) to Acciaierie di Cividale (which performed the steel casting), Innoway (which hosted the final stages of the process at its facilities), Petrolavori (which handled the painting), and Top Sistema (which will handle the valve’s packaging for transport).
The valve, classified as 114” – 150 Class Rating Cast Steel Wedge Gate Valve API 600, represents the first World Record for the Trieste-based company, a result achieved in a special year: 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of Orion’s founding, which thus, for this important anniversary, sees its position as a reference operator in the global energy landscape consolidated.
