In an statement dated Jan. 18, 2016, Anadarko stated that first oil was extracted from the Heideberg field on Jan. 14, 2016, from the company’s second major truss spar development in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico in the last two years. Heidelberg achieved first oil significantly ahead of schedule and favorable to budget.
Heideberg belongs to a new project from Anadarko, together with the Lucius field, Anadarko’s most technically advanced truss spar to date, and its 80,000-barrels-of-oil-per-day design is currently being replicated for Anadarko’s Heidelberg spar as part of the company’s “design one, build two” approach.
