Danfoss released its new EVR v2 solenoid valves, following a general reorganisation to the range of EVR valves throughout 2017.
The superior maximum OPD and minimum OPD (Opening Pressure Differential) deliver greater performance in high- temperature applications (up to 105°C) and are optimized for variable refrigerant flow conditions or use with variable speed technology. Designed to withstand a higher Maximum Working Pressure — up to 45 bar – the same model of EVR solenoid valve is compatible with higher pressure refrigerants such as R 410A and is applicable to heat pumps or chillers running in ambient temperatures (up to 130°C for hot gas defrost and bypass) during periods of maximum loads. Qualifications are planned in 2018 for alternative mildly flammable and flammable refrigerants to be used in larger chillers.
Speaking about maintenance and replacement, there is no need to de-solder the complete valve and put a new one into the system. Instead, the valve body can be left in place and the internal parts
replaced as required in order to get the system up and running again quickly. Service kits are also available.
The wide range is available for cooling capacities from 3 to 410 kW in liquid line, 0.3 to 65 kW in suction line, and 1 to 350 kW for hot gas bypass, with connection sizes from 6 mm to 42 mm. They have the same built-in length as the actual EVR with the corresponding connection size except for the bi-metal connections.
