Mokveld presented low shear technology at SPE Virtual PWT Workshop

Mokveld presented a virtual workshop about its low shear Typhoon Valve System at the Produced Water Treatment and Management (Onshore and Offshore) Workshop organized by SPE in Malaysia from 26-28 April 2021.
The workshop by Kee Jun Kon titled “High yield improvement of produced water quality without additional treatment” was a part of the discussion about Produced Water Treatment from Aging Assets and Mature Fields.
The traditional method of separating the phases from an emulsified oil/water stream is by adding heat to the fluid. With the implementation of the low shear Typhoon Valve System less heat input is required to separate the phases, reducing the loss of oil volume and API gravity. This is a simple and efficient solution to enhance oil-water separation and achieve compliance to corporate goals for a sustainable production of fossil fuels in an environmentally sound matter.
